Bolivia celebrates the tenth anniversary of Mi Teleferico, an innovative cable public transportation system that has revolutionized urban mobility in the cities of El Alto, located 4,090 meters above sea level, and La Paz, at 3,600 meters, transporting more than 200 thousand passengers daily. Inaugurated in May 2014, its success has inspired other cities and countries to consider the cable car as a viable option to improve the mobility of their inhabitants.

What began as a bold project to address mobility challenges in one of the most geographically complex regions in the world, has evolved into a cable car network with 10 lines named with a color: Red , Yellow, Green, Blue, White, Orange, Silver, Brown and Purple, which connect from residential areas to commercial and tourist areas, covering more than 30 kilometers in length, making it the most extensive urban cable transport system of the world.

Mi teleferico as a means of transportation marked a cultural and social milestone, significantly impacting the quality of life of Bolivians by offering a safe and efficient transportation alternative. In addition to reducing travel times, the system has contributed to the social and economic integration of these cities, facilitating access to jobs, education and health services.

Another notable aspect is its commitment to environmental sustainability. By using electrical energy and not generating polluting emissions, the system has helped improve air quality in the region, thus contributing to the fight against climate change, being internationally recognized as an urban transportation model.

At Cal y Mayor Group, we are proud to be part of a project that is a symbol of progress and development for Bolivia, carrying out the supervision of demand studies, the executive project, construction and testing of operation of the 10 lines of this cable transport system. We emphasize that it was executed under the turnkey modality, within the expected deadlines and without any type of additional cost.

Looking toward the future, we know that Mi Teleferico will face new challenges and opportunities. With plans for expansion and continuous improvements, this system will continue to play a fundamental role in the transformation of urban mobility in Bolivia, inspiring future generations to dream of a more connected and sustainable future.
